Thanksgiving used not to be a holiday that I would care much for, and the reason is because I grew up in Venezuela and we simply do not celebrate that holiday there, at least in my 100% Venezuelan family.
And now thanksgiving has become one of my favorite holidays among Christmas and new years, but thanks giving has a very special meaning in my heart and I’ll explain why briefly.

Gratitude has been one of my daily mantras and routine in my life, writing down thank you every morning has improved my life for the very best. Saying thank you to people for the things that have done for me or the meanings of thoughtfulness in little action, showing appreciation for the most minimal things in life and having a gratitude mindset have done miracles to me.
So Thanksgiving is a holiday that even people that do not practice daily gratitude are “exposed” to celebrate thankfulness in this one single, but very meaningful day.

Sitting around with family and friends doing social connection, sharing delicious foods with love ones is nurturing to our souls, and sitting on the table consciously or not you are feeling gratitude, because the whole concept of this holiday is as simple as giving thanks for that beautiful moment that you are sharing with people that you choose to be with, and of course wishing that the ones that are no longer with us could join us in our physical world, and yes I say that because I do know that the ones that has left us are in our hearts with us today. In my case wishing that my friends and family all over the world could be sharing this lovely holiday with me as well.

So yes thanksgiving I could say it’s my favorite holiday ever since I realized the actual meaning of this lovely holiday. Being thankful is one of the miracles in my life that has helped me keep depression and anxiety away. And I am truly thankful for it.

Happy Thanksgiving and I hope you practice this holiday everyday in your life, it is worth it!!!!
